Rob Austin: Hi, everyone! This is Rob Austin and today I have a totally new column about something you can’t miss: Music around the world. Let’s face the truth, there's music that seems to be the soundtrack of an entire country, you can’t imagine a culture without a kind of music and it’s extremely normal to do so.
For example, we have 5 countries and their music. The first one is what we know as “son” from Cuba. The moment you listen to the trumpet, a smooth guitar and those radical bongo drums you can literally feel those Cuban notes dancing all over your body; and Latin America is famous for its rhythms, because just like Cuba, Argentina has its own with Tango. Even when Tango is an old music style, many identify its notes and the awesome dance produced with its sentimental or joyous notes.
And not only rhythm is part of Latin American music, but a Mexican Fiesta can’t go without Mariachi music either; this traditional sound from Mexico is one of the happiest sounds you can hear. But we know happiness is shared all over the world, just like in Russia, where traditional Kadril takes place where a Russian party is; it has a special sound due to the balalaika, a kind of stringed instrument, popular in Russia. And of course, let’s not forget Greece’s Sirtaki, that term is referred to both music and dance, where people take each other’s hands and dance to the fast rhythm of the music. What other styles do you know from around the world?
