Arely Around the World: Hi, everyone! This is Arely and I'm tripping around the world! Today we have a special section because I’m currently having an amazing time in Quebec, Canada. The best part of the whole trip is this: a special tour around some areas in the east coast, where we can find ruins of the first settlements in Canada and the reason why some people speak English and French as their first language.
When Canada was colonized back in the late XV century, some English settlers arrived to this area, and it was really confusing for some of them later on because the French arrived almost in the same period of time, but since the British had no real intention of staying here, they didn’t establish any fort and that’s why the French became the first real colonizers of Canada. But when the British explored some of the areas, they were keen on having some of the most useful parts of Nova Scotia. War broke out. France lost, but today we still can see what happened next: two languages, different people, and one Nation.
