B1S1 - Listening 2

Christopher: Hello, Brad. Where are you going?

Brad: Hi! I’m on my way home, I went to see the Big Ben. It's enormous!

Christopher: I know. It is 96 meters tall. The name “Big Ben” is for the bell that is inside the tower.

Brad: Really? I didn’t know that. There are a lot of things to learn about the Parliament Hill.

Christopher: Yes, the British called the tower “The Elizabeth Tower” after Queen Elizabeth II.

Brad: Amazing! You know a lot. Are you interested in history?

Christopher: Yes, I have some books about the English history. I can lend you one of them if you like to read.

Brad: Sure! What else do you know about the Clock Tower?

Christopher: Well, its construction was finished in 1859 and it is the largest four facing clock tower in the world.

Brad: How interesting! Can I stop by your house later and pick up one of your books?

Christopher: Of course! I’ll be waiting for you. See you soon!

Brad: Bye!
